A damning new report on the state of the Metropolitan Police Department is coming and if certain parties have their way — the Met may cease to exist in the current form in which many have known it to be. Over the weekend, reports emerged that the Home Secretary is taking direct aim at the force. A report full of recommendations stemming largely from reports of misogynistic; abusive, racist, and other problematic police officers are expected to be released today.
In the same report, it found that in nearly every department there was some form of problems including but not limited to rampant homophobia; racism, sexism, and other common societal problems. According to The Mail, the report is also specifically targeting a number of areas and specialized units including the infamous elite parliamentary and diplomatic protection (PaDP) unit.
In that unit crazed killer, Wayne Couzens who killed Sarah Everard worked for quite some time, David Carrick a serial rapist also worked in the same unit. In total, the report is calling for that particular unit to be indefinitely disbanded at least in its current form.
