On Monday, the Biden Administration announced that the national COVID-19 emergency declaration is coming to an end after one last extension. Republicans have long demanded that the emergency be cancelled and had attempted to previously force the administration to do so through court battles of varying kinds.
According to the AP, the sudden announcement came after a pair of lawsuits were argued against by the White House over a Republican demand to end it immediately.
