Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving is with Nike no more. According to statements released by both sides, a recent mutual decision to part ways has taken flight. The decision comes just weeks after Irving infamously tweeted anti-Jewish content that sent shockwaves through social media.
“Kyrie is no longer a Nike athlete,” a company spokesperson told ESPN on Monday. Shetellia Riley Irving, Irving’s agent—and stepmother—said it was a joint decision. “We have mutually decided to part ways and wish Nike the best in their future endeavors,” she told CNBC.
