“Independence Weekend” in America is shaping up to be a deadly one. According to Buzzfeed News, 6 people have died and dozens more were injured after a gunman opened fire from a rooftop near a Highland Park area 4th of July celebration.
“On a day that we came together to celebrate community and freedom, we are instead mourning the tragic loss of life and struggling with the terror that was brought upon us,” Mayor Nancy Rotering said at a news conference. Authorities are still searching for the guy at this time and believe him to be a white man between the ages of 18 and 20.
