That’s because the retail giant has been quietly handing over Ring video archives to cops across the United States. According to Vox, 11 times this year Amazon and ‘Ring’ have handed over such things to law enforcement. During Amazon ‘s Prime Day celebration this year, Sen Ed Markey from Massachusetts revealed that the company has quietly been expanding its partnerships with police without ever as much as notifying users.
“As my ongoing investigation into Amazon illustrates, it has become increasingly difficult for the public to move, assemble, and converse in public without being tracked and recorded,” he said in a statement.
