GWU: Clarence Thomas stays despite his aiding the reversal of Roe vs Wade

George Washington University is making headlines today amid news that the school will not cancel Clarence Thomas ‘s constitutional seminar programme that he teaches at the University. Following the reversal of Roe vs Wade (and the threat of numerous other rights also going out the window) students and even faculty took to the school demanding that Thomas be let go. According to Politico, the school has since addressed the controversy confirming that they in fact will not fire Thomas but claim his views do not represent their own.

“Debate is an essential part of our university’s academic and educational mission,” it said in a statement addressed to “the George Washington University Community.”

“Just as we affirm our commitment to academic freedom, we affirm the right of all members of our communities to voice their opinions,” the statement said.
