New York ‘s Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that following yet another school shooting in America New York is pushing its legislature to make some bold moves. According to reports, Hochul is now asking the legislature to review proposals that would bar those under 21 from ever legally buying an AR-15 weapon or something similar of the kind. It is unclear if such a proposal would ever make it past the legislature.
“How does an 18-year-old purchase an AR-15 in the State of New York, State of Texas? That person’s not old enough to buy a legal drink. I want to work with the legislature to change that. I want it to be 21. I think that’s just common sense,” Hochul said at a Wednesday press conference in Rensselaer County.
A gun control package is expected to be brought to heel next week.
