Finland loses Russian gas service after country refuses to pay Gazprom in Rubles: Reports

Amid the backdrop of attempts by Finland to join NATO the country is now without some of its gas service that it imported from Russia. According to state owned Gazprom, Gazprom has shuttered service to the Nordic country over refusals by Finnish officials to pay for such services in Rubles over other currencies. That request is because that is one of the only currencies Russia can use right now without setting off another international issue over the still present sanctions.

Reuters reports that because Finland has been preparing for this for some time the country won’t see many problems because of this happening to their gas service.
