Sabina Nessa: Man jailed for life over murder that sparked outcry in London

Most people know by now that the UK has long had a massive problem with violence against women and girls. Sabina Nessa a woman who lost her life after being murdered in 2021 is just one of many examples of that violence that remains today. According to CNN, the man identified as Nessa ‘s killer Koci Selamaj  will spend at least 36 years minimum in prison for his role in her murder that helped spark outcry in London over the government’s failure to address the violence problem.

“On 17 September 2021, Koci Selamaj, 36, traveled from Eastbourne to Cator Park in Kidbrooke [south-east London] where he lay in wait for an unsuspecting victim to come his way,” the Metropolitan Police said.

“At around 20:30hrs, he saw Sabina enter the park and carried out a ferocious and sexually motivated attack before fleeing the scene,” police said Friday.
