Neptune is experiencing a major shift in temperature, but researchers cannot exactly figure out why

This week’s Astronomy & Space newsletter is here. In this week’s edition we take you to the world of Neptune one of the many planets above us that have never been explored by humans. According to reports, researchers have discovered that Neptune is undergoing its own temperature change (at times extreme) but the rise itself cannot actually be pinpointed down to an exact cause.

Neptune presently orbits the sun at a distance of 2.8 billion miles and almost uniquely experiences seasons like planet Earth does. The only major difference is that the seasons on Neptune actually last for about 165 earth years. That means it has been summer in Neptune ‘s southern region since about 2005.

Scientists have been tracking the planet ‘s warming and cooler moments since that time. A study on the phenomenon published Monday in the Planetary Science Journal.
