A new study out this week has revealed that more Americans than ever are getting high via marijuana. Commonplace drug test company Quest Diagnostics revealed in a new study that 2021 was the highest on record of patients turning up positive for pot. As a result of this — many employers are now no longer testing for THC because it has become so common. Several U.S states already flatout banned the testing for THC in common drug tests for employment.
“We’ve been seeing year-over-year declines in those recreational-use states,” said Barry Sample of Quest, “but by far the largest drop we’ve ever seen was in 2021.” The company found that 3.9% of the 6 million urine tests it processed last year came back positive, up 50% from 2017.
