Taliban officials (we won’t call them a government) have announced this week that women once again will be forced into repression because the Taliban can’t quite grasp the world isn’t in 1865 anymore. According to the Huff Post, girls have been banned this week from school beyond the level of 6th grade. Women are no longer allowed to board planes without a male relative — it is the 1990 ‘s all over again.
This is a far cry from the falsehoods told by the terror cell as they took over the country last year. At that point in time they claimed that women would be essentially free (but in line with Islamic law) and would be allowed to do normal things. Those things have reportedly changed in recent weeks as the group has largely failed to gain access to email accounts; funds, and foreign held securities that they’ve been trying to get their hands on since last year.
One could argue that the Taliban is feeling resentful because of their large-scale failures. These new problems come as news reporters and news services are being booted from Afghanistan as the terror cell seeks to take full control of what people hear; see, and read about Afghanistan.
