Sherri Papini ‘s wild tale of deceit only keeps taking a new turn. According to police officials who are investigating the case, police do not believe that Papini concocted the entire scheme by herself which would make entire sense according to numerous people who knew the woman.
Papini is currently in a California jail on lying to police charges and that of falsely claiming more than $30,000 from CA ‘s Victim Compensation Fund which was also a part of her wild rouse. Police maintain that instead of actually having gone missing she instead was holed up in her ex-boyfriends apartment for several weeks. It is one of many twists in the case that have helped bring her scam to light.
Part of the scam and why it was successful even temporarily is because of her depth of lies. Police claim that Papini coaxed her ex-boyfriend into driving her to his apartment that year after falsely claiming that she was being abused by her husband. Her ex boyfriend has been identified as James Reyes though it is unclear what charges he will face and if cops are prepared to lodge any against him.
