Hey America: This is how you can get a free at home COVID-19 test through your private insurance

Last updated on 2022-04-10

Starting tomorrow many Americans will be able to count on their private insurance to get free at home COVID-19 tests. In this guide, we’re going to explore what we’ve learned after clarifying the general rules of Biden ‘s new programme with those familiar with the programme.

  1. Tests bought BEGINNING 15 January can be reimbursed

When you begin purchasing on this day please save your receipt. You should be able to get reimbursed for the test.

2. Despite social media posts and misinformation doctors appts aren’t actually required.

According to Biden ‘s plan, doc visits will not be required to actually get free at home COVID 19 tests.

3. Next week a website and a toll free phone number is expected to launch with more information.

Next week the Biden Administration has announced that a series of websites and toll free phone numbers are set to launch to help consumers get their hands on the hard-to-come-by tests.

4. Medicare recipients aren’t left out entirely, however…

These recipients must have their test ordered by a licensed medical professional to actually have them covered and they must take place inside of a lab.

5. What about medicaid recipients?

Medicaid recipients along with CHIP recipients (that’s for kids) these tests are already largely covered. Please consult with your insurance agency directly.

We will update this page next week when the toll free number and website launches.
