American con woman Elizabeth Holmes is set to be sentenced. According to a ruling by the judge in her case, Holmes will be sentenced later this year on 26 September on 4 of the 11 federal charges against her for her crimes while at Theranos. Holmes will be sentenced weeks after her co-conspirator will be sentenced in early September.
According to CNN, Holmes is facing upwards of 20 years in prison though it may actually be several years before she actually goes to prison due to the appeals process. Apart from the pending and likely high sentence, Holmes will also owe more than $250,000 in fines and restitution (to start.)
