Terrifying tales of rape; murder, and torture again emerge in Myanmar as country battles to regain its Democracy

Democracy is quite literally on the line around the world. Myanmar is a shining example of what happens when Democracy falls and instead dictators arise. This week reports emerged out of the country of rape; torture, and murder having become the common norm among villagers and communities.

Reports indicate that in one instance soldiers rounded up at least 40 men in a single village quickly having killed and offed them without much of an explanation. It is one of many signs of rising violence against those in the country sometimes for no reason and sometimes for reasons that aren’t clear.

The BBC rounds up one instance in which soldiers arrived at the Khani providence whereas they rounded up villagers and slaughtered them before having buried them in apparent unmarked graves. The New York Times has more on the rowdy security situation in the country against the backdrop of a militia that claims it has done nothing wrong.
