3 dead multiple wounded after teen gunman opens fire on Michigan High School

America has once again been rocked by news of a school shooting this time in Michigan. According to reports, multiple students are dead and the suspect was quickly apprehended by police before he could hurt anyone else. The shooting reportedly took place at Oxford High School. Some of the victims are understood to have been a 16-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl.

Reports indicate that the Oakland County shooting took place Tuesday afternoon and in fact resulted in the deaths of at least 3 students. Initially, it wasn’t very clear who the suspect was, however, a while into the reported shooting the identity of the suspect was revealed to be a 15-year-old student. The identity of the student does not appear to have been released as of this writing.

It is widely understood that the teen has lawyered up and is not cooperating with the police.

According to authorities, the suspect is being held at a juvi detention centre and will not be identified unless otherwise charged as an adult (which may be likely given multiple people were killed.) Police did however confirm that the gun used was a 9mm Sig Sauer pistol and appeared to have been taken from the boy’s father. It is unclear when it was purchased by his father, though, it was in fact his gun that was used in the attacks.

A motive is not yet known.
