American musician and billionare businessman Jay-Z has been cleared of any legal wrongdoing in the parfume case brought against him by a previous sponsor company. Parlux Fragrances LLC previously alleged that Jay did not actively promote nor engage with his parfume collection per the terms of their agreement, and as a result, they sought more than $67m in damages that have since been rejected.
Neither side won any form of moentary compensation.
“You failed to prove your case, they failed to prove their case,” Justice Andrew Borrok told an attorney for Parlux after the verdict was announced. “You’re excused.”
