Interpol just elected a criminal to be its President that should worry anyone who cares about human rights

B A criminal in the sense of an international scale type of criminal. According to readily available information, Interpol ‘s newest pick for its President is none other than Maj. Gen. Ahmed Naser al-Raisi who has been accused of high crimes; severe torture, and dozens of human rights abuses in more than five countries.

Ironically, one of those countries is actually France where their headquarters are understood to be located. The AFP notes that as the elected President he will have some say in the general direction of the agency, however, most calls will be called by the secretary general.
