Congratulations Jessica Watkins, who is set to be the first Black woman ever to join the International Space Station Crew

There aren’t enough words in the English language to share how proud we are of Astronaut Jessica Watkins. According to NASA, Watkins is set to depart in April on a 6 month mission above us on the ISS. This would normally be a fairly forward thing, however, a Black woman has never been part of the crew to do so until now.

According to official stats, 7 of the 249 people ever to go up there have been Black none of those were a Black woman.
