This article is a public health alert for those kitchen masters. According to the CDC, imported Mexican onions from the state of Chihuaha are making headlines for all of the wrong reasons. Government officials in the United States have reportedly identified a series of onion imports from this area that appear to be the cause of a salmonella outbreak.
According to what we’ve learned that outbreak has sickened more than 650 people in 37 states and counting. The CDC is advising that people who have any form of onions without proper packaging or stickers on them to toss them out.
Salmonella symptoms include: diarrhea, vomiting, fever, stomach cramps, and dehydration.
