Here’s where Washington is on its massive spending bill + details on Manchin and Sinema

We have a spending bill update of sorts brace yourselves. According to HuffPost, a series of Democratic made slides have surfaced that indicate Democrats are ready to compromise even with their own party members. The slides show that some Democrats are looking at now a $2.5T price tag rather than a $3.5T in an effort to satisfy members who say things had gotten expensive.

The problem with that problem is that Sinema and Manchin think things are too expensive in the midst of a pandemic that has all but brought America too its knees. It’s interesting to note that Manchin has floated somewhere around $1.5T though Sinema has not publicly disclosed the top-line number that she would actually support. But let’s make it clear — she has made it clear that she does not support negotiating drug prices because it was later revealed that she has aligned herself with pharma groups who are strongly opposed to such happening.

“Ever since Manchin and Sinema’s demands were a little more known, people were thinking, what are some gimmicky ways we can get $2.5 trillion while meeting their top line?” one Democratic aide familiar with the situation told HuffPost.

It has become evidently more clear that two Democrats control the future of Democratic politics at this point at least during the Biden administration.
