Onlyfans reverses course will not ban porn but you probably should take that with a grain of salt because they can’t be trusted

Onlyfans.com is now claiming that it is reversing course and will keep porn on its platform after near universal backlash online. Earlier this month, the site abruptly announced that X-rated content would disappear from the site beginning in October in a bid to fend off complaints from financial regulators and banks (hint: we’ve written about this before.)

The announcement of the reversal though isn’t sitting well with some and for good reason. Even though Onlyfans is now trying to keep porn content, perhaps, and ultimately it will not be up to them how they process their payments in the end. Banks of course will have the last laugh as will investors as they obviously control the purse strings that Onlyfans cares so much about.

It is worth noting that “suspended” does not mean anything more than for the time being. Their wording indicates that at any time their “banking” partners as they say could again attempt to pull the plug.
