A man was attacked in NYC Friday night; beaten, and subjected to homophobic slurs: Reports

A potential bias crime has been reported in New York City. According to multiple reports, a 20 something man identified as Sina Rezaie, 29, was attacked Friday night in New York City and left with a number of injuries including an almost fully broken jaw. Rezaie is a doctor in Manhattan.

‘He called me a f****t and then half a block later, he came from behind and kicked and punched me multiple times,’ Sina Rezaie told NBC New York from his hospital bed Saturday evening. 

The attack happened in the Greenwich Village area of Manhattan, an area that typically is fairly gay friendly. Cameras are present throughout the neighborhood and according to police reports the NYPD is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Rezaie was taken to the hospital where he had his jaw banded shut with screws and metal plates
