A scary form of drug-resistant fungi is spreading through the United States. According to the CDC, two cases in D.C and a handful more in Texas are causing concern among officials because there is no way to stop it. Known as pan-resistant C. auris, it is understood that there is no current drug that cures it.
Little information is presently known about how far and wide the fungi may have already spread. It is understood that people who live in care facilities or may have weak immune systems generally are more prone to it. Doctors and researchers are highly concerned because if it continues to spread or the spores are inhaled — that could prove to be a problem without treatment.
