Against the backdrop of a widening government crackdown frenzy, Apple Daily is no more within the borders of China at least. According to the popular newspaper, the site has been shuttered just days after mass arrests took place at the company and its partners because China says they’ve violated the national security law.
An article has since appeared confirming what appears to be the paper’s exit from Chinese media.
