Kill Mom Lori Vallow has been found unfit to stand trial for murdering her children

Rightfully having earned the nickname “Cult Mom” Lori Vallow will not (at least right now) stand trial for the double murder of her children. A document filed in court has revealed she has been deemed incompetent. It is unclear where Chad Daybell stands until June.

Documents filed in the Fremont County courthouse in Idaho have revealed today that Cult Mom Lori Vallow is in fact allegedly suffering from psychiatric illnesses. According to the document and the judge (who filed such under deal), Vallow underwent multiple tests and it was found that she is suffering from a few issues.

It adds yet another twist to an already complicated case that has dominated international headlines. Vallow ‘s fling Chad Daybell is also preparing to face his own trial on 9 June during a hearing where he will learn his fate. Both are facing either life in prison (though with Vallow ‘s ruling that may be a tough sell) or quite potentially the death penalty over the case.

The same indictment and document collection revealed that Vallow had also wrongly collected the social benefits for both children for up to nearly 6 months after they had been killed. Both of her children were receiving what is known as “survivors” benefits when at least one parent passes away but no more than half of what was the original parent’s benefits. At one point, Vallow is believed to have changed the account information from her daughter’s account to hers despite telling police otherwise.

Daybell is also charged with the murder of his first wife Tami Daybell who is believed to have had a sole role in her death. At the time of her death that year, Daybell reportedly died in her sleep in her mid 40 ‘s in near excellent health. Investigators claimed in documents that Daybell refused an autopsy at the time despite suspicions by way of the police as to what actually happened.

Last Friday a judge ruled Vallow indigent (which means unable to pay) for an attorney.

In April of last year, Vallow ‘s infamous financial struggles were revealed. At the time, she had allegedly tried to get into her ex-husband ‘s $1m life insurance policy by unlawfully accessing it using his password. The man, Charles Vallow, was able to stop her from doing so and notified his policy agent. Per documents, he was shot dead by Vallow ‘s brother Alex Cox no less than 2 weeks later for reasons that aren’t quite clear.
