The very hacking collective that apparently successfully got into one of the U.S’s main gas pipelines has disbanded. According to numerous internet postings, The Darkside Group, has disbanded amid pressure from the FBI and more to come forth and clean about what happened. Though theories are abound that it was not a hack job and may have been something a tad different.

The posts now conveniently are claiming that the group has disbanded over supposed money mismanagement problems though it was claimed just days ago they were never paid a ransom for the reported attack. Though days after that it was then reported by Bloomberg that they were in fact paid $5m in ransom money via Bitcoin.

Some of the claims appear to suggest that in the matter of days the group lost access to their digital front where they keep much of their operations server-side. It is unclear how the drop in server availability may have happened but they apparently also lost their payment processor at the same time.
