A stunning defense in the quest to charge those responsible for the terrorist attack on the U.S Capitol has made its rounds online. Accrding to the Guardian, Anthony Antonio is making headlines over claims that amid 5 charges for his role “Fox made him do it.”

The defense is considered a unique one because it claims that Fox News is the problem behind what is being fed to right-wing Americans. Critics have long argued just that, though, the admission from a Trump supporter is likely to have strong implications for Fox itself.

Lawyers for Antonio claim that before the riots he was unemployed nearly a year and constantly had Fox News playing at home. The same lawyers likened a “constant diet of misinformation” to that of mental illness.
