Former U.S President Donald Trump has made a haul off of the American people and continues to do so. Multiple new watchdog reports reveal that Trump ‘s intentionally having his kids stay at his properties on the taxpayers dime.
Because most of the time former President ‘s usually don’t extend secret service protection to their immediate entire family. According to The Guardian, just before Donald Trump left office he extended secret service protection to all of his adult children cost the government in the months following his leaving office $140,000 (sometimes that was the price in just a month’s time.) All of that money generally has gone back to the Trump ‘s because the Trump children and their spouses notoriously mostly stay at Trump properties.
That initial cost per ethical watchdog groups includes transportation and hotel costs. In addition to saving the Trump’s the cost of security detail, it also adds a healthy profit to Trump ‘s own struggling property portfolio something that generally would be frowned upon otherwise.
The Washington Post subsequently found that during his Presidency — Donald Trump reportedly billed the government more than $1.1B that ended up coming from taxpayers.
In more ways than one Trump is still profiting off of the American people despite having left months ago.
The Post and the Guardian both also spoke to a group called CREW (the ethical watchdog group) that noted that within 6 months the cost is expected to exceed well beyond $1M billed to the taxpayers.
