Editors note: According to U.S law, patient brokering is a fraud scheme where people take illegal kickbacks in order to provide a benefit to someone else. The scheme reportedly involved something called Lola Ventures (which is oddly sounds like an OD to his daughter Lindsay Lohan.)
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA — Local police are apparently having a field day this weekend with the arrest of none other than Michael Lohan, the father of American actress Lindsay Lohan (who by no means has anything to do with this story.). Local authorities say that Lohan, 60, is apparently part of a patient brokering fraud scheme that spanned much of Florida across various rehabilitation centers in the area. He has been charged with at least 5 counts of patient brokering.
That’s right. Lohan along with 100 others arrested are alleged to have taken thousands of dollars in kickbacks for allegedly bringing in unwilling drug addicts to centre they never wanted to be placed into. Between 2017 and 2019, Lohan took more than $27,750 in illegal payments via wire transfers and checks to his so-called Lola Rehab Ventures company.
Many of the allegations surround the Pride Recovery Program in Delray Beach Florida which he is accused of administering referrals to between 2018 and 2019. Lohan ‘s rep declined to comment the contacted Friday night.
