Case of woman in Texas jailed for 5 years for voting illegally to be reviewed in shock decision

Texas is a state that hardly ever reviews non death penalty cases for whatever reason that may be. But this week Texas officials announced that the case against Crystal Mason who was jailed for 5 years would be reviewed. Mason was jailed a while back over the idea that she allegedly illegally voted as a felon not realizing she was barred from doing such.

She was not on the Tarrant County voting rolls at the time of voting but did fill out a provisional ballot with the help of a poll worker at the time. The Guardian reports that now that the case is being reviewed it may actually come to an end.
