Even Mike Pence would like some of the far-flung far-right Trump supporters to know that even he despite what he may believe wants no parts. According to the AP, the Justice Department filed a response on Wednesday formally asking for the suit to be dismissed because it isn’t cognizable. n fact the DOJ claimed in the response that the far-right individuals who filed suit (including a sitting member of the GOP) sued the wrong party.
Pence of course is represented by the DOJ and neither party appears to want much to do with the suit. Pence ‘s role next week in the certification process in fact is rather ceremonial more than anything.
