Just shortly after 1am this morning the first double homicide of 2021 has been recorded in New York City. According to the NYPD, just shortly after 1am in Kew Gardens at the Umbrella Hotel a young man was shot dead; a 40 something man was shot and seriously injured, and another died after an apparent disruption near the area.
The NYPD confirmed between last night and today at least 7 people have either been shot; seriously injured by a shooting, and a few have died already. It is starting ooff the New Year on a violent streak already amid rising tensions; financial struggles in the city, and behavior issues among residents struggling with their personal lives.
No arrests have been made in connection to the homicides as of yet.
