Heartbreaking: New numbers show 1 in 10 Los Angeles residents have COVID-19

The bleak numbers come as America as a whole continues to grapple with the virus and a polarized community who refuses to address the pandemic itself. While mask wearing has increased — people are still traveling and often times can be found bragging on social media that they’re not following protocols. In Los Angeles most are confused as they are struggling with lockdown fatigue.

California is now one of the hardest hit places in America (like New York once was) but they’ve been hit thrice as bad. According to the latest COVID-19 numbers, California officials are struggling to contain more than 3m COVID cases and counting. Cases that are rising as we speak with death tolls climbing not far behind. It is once again a tragic turn for California as the state struggles to contain the virus that has brought the state nearly to shambles.

CNN reports that the number of cases in the state has nearly tripled or more in the past two months alone. Increases that can be accounted to quite a few things including ineptness at the hands of California ‘s Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom ‘s general and often confusing response to the Coronavirus pandemic for many people has been troublesome.

In a stunning viewpoint, more than 1.1m cases of the virus are in Los Angeles alone where it is reportedly believed that nearly 1 in 10 people have the virus as a whole.
