America and quite frankly the rest of social media has all eyes set on Georgia this evening. On Tuesday, the anticipated runoff elections for control of the U.S Senate officially kicked into gear. So far the elections are reportedly razor-close and most can expect results likely sometime tomorrow. Counting the results likely won’t take as long as they did in November because of a number of rule changes in the state.
Georgia actually recently passed a rule that made it clear that most of the election-related work should be done ahead of time (but they couldn’t actually count the ballots until it was time.). That election-work is a reference to the behind-the-scenes work of verifying signatures; names, and the like of those listed on the ballots.
