Facebook owned WhatsApp is gearing up to boot millions of users from its platform temporarily into the New Year. According to reports, WhatsApp is poised to receive a service update on 1 January that will result in older phones and smartphones no longer being compatible with the app itself.
The following software(s) are set to be cut off from the service. iOS9 and Android 4.0.3 both of which are several years old. The iPhone iOS9 was the last update the iPhone 4 could receive and as a result will be no longer useable with the app.
4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and 6S of the iPhone handset collection can still be updated to come into play with the app.
