First Seattle 20 years ago; then Utah last week, and now Romania. It seems the world has a mystery on its hands (that being whether it is an art installation or something potentially far more interesting.). Beginning last week, a monolith of sorts appeared on federal land in Utah that oddly enough was not placed there by officials.
*We’re placing bets on this being some sort of advert for a movie or something. Unless of course it isn’t and then in that case questions should be asked. But we’re going with some twisted advertisement for sure.
It was originally found by researchers surveying animals in the area. The discovery led to a wild discussion online but before that discussion could end it has now gone even further. Just two days after the Utah version disappeared, a nearly identical monolith has appeared in Romania near a holy site that is considered one of the country’s historical wonders.
It has led many to suggest that it is either a series of art installations or something a little more crazy might be trying to send a message to lil planet earth *chuckles.*
Vice has the pictures of the latest one. Romanian officials have denied placing it there and have no idea where it came from.
