The CDC says these Americans will get the vaccine next, plus what’s known so far about the COVID mutation

The next phase of vaccine recommendations in the United States has been given by the CDC. According to the Centre for Disease Control — those over 76; those between 16 and 65 with advanced and high risk conditions, frontline workers (including those in markets and teachers) are all set to be included in the next round.

The advisory panel crammed in yet another emergency meeting over the weekend as concerns grew over who will actually get the vaccination. The meeting also comes on the heels of travel throughout the U.K being suspended but the U.S has left such travel open. Several experts are concerned about such and how that may impact the vaccine rollout in the United States if British citizens are still allowed to enter the country.

The dark winter is here but what does that mean exactly?

The U.S has repeatedly seen soaring case numbers including a spiking death toll in recent weeks. The discovery of mutant strains (there have been a few at this point) would deeply trouble the U.S even further if the mutant strain makes it to America. The mutant strain is believed to be at least 70% or more contagious than previously known strains of the novel Coronavirus.
