Despite calls from Buckingham Palace and apparent members of the government —- streaming service Netflix has no plans to add a disclaimer to its smash hit. The calls for such originally came after members of the government claimed that the show was damaging to the image of the royal family.
“We have always presented ‘The Crown’ as a drama – and we have every confidence our members understand it’s a work of fiction that’s broadly based on historical events,” a Netflix spokesperson told Variety.com “As a result we have no plans — and see no need — to add a disclaimer.”
