Morning Mix: SCOTUS hearings; healthcare, Trump’s dawn of refusal, and more

Last updated on 2020-11-10

It’s Monday morning and boy have the headlines already started. From Trump ‘s struggle over power; to the Supreme Court hearing tomorrow that could take away your healthcare, consider this your morning newsletter to kickstart your week. This newsletter is presented by Daily News Online and its lifestyle brand Purple Crown Lifestyle & Entertainment.

Monday: Donald Trump is expected to launch even more lawsuits to attempt to overthrow the U.S election results. His followers and allies are still claiming that there was widespread voter fraud, although, no evidentiary proof has been provided as of this writing. Over the weekend, Pennsylvania received a lawsuit from Trump ‘s campaign seeking to prevent the state from certifying their election results.

-Lawyers for just about every possible person and beyond are gearing up for tomorrow’s grand slam hearing at the Supreme Court. According to the docket, the Supreme Court is slated to hear a case tomorrow that could prevent you from accessing important healthcare and services through the Affordable Care Act and its marketplace. Despite what many say, the healthcare act has given tens of millions access to much needed services and life-saving healthcare (we’d know, we are among those people.)

-Melania Trump, per reports, has been quietly pushing Trump to concede to Joe Biden in a presumptive effort to move on with their lives. It was widely reported in 2016 that Trump herself had burst into tears upon learning that Trump himself actually won. Many close confidantes and former friends have all said that Melania never wanted to be First Lady in the first place.

– AG Barr is back in the headlines on this glorious Monday. According to several reports and one very hasty resignation letter, a top DOJ official known for his work in “protecting elections” has resigned amid a dispute with Barr and Trump. Trump maintains that he won the election, although, Department officials are not buying his propaganda. Last last night, Richard Pilger formally resigned from the DoJ amid claims of corruption overruling the rule of law.

– Minneapolis is making headlines again over the previously discussed ‘Defund The Police’ movement. Although nobody’s quite sure if the reported rise in violence has any correlation to the movement itself (which does not actually mean literally defund the police), the city is experiencing a vast rise in violent crime.

According to an official report, the city has seen such a spike in violent crime that they’re now requesting help from other sheriff departments in surrounding areas. City council officials are apparently trying to approve a budget that would allow that too happen. It is unclear how well that may go down considering it was the Minneapolis Police Department to begin with that helped ignite the protests that brought America to its knees in the first place.

-Damning allegations are surfacing out of the Vatican. The Vatican appears to have published a damning report that shows that Pope John Paul II was elevated to higher status despite having known to be a predator towards children. The 400 page internal document details the former Pope ‘s stunning rise and his extraordinary fall. We’ll have more on that later today.
