If you’re an American faced with the prospect of eviction, we need you to look at this first

That’s because not many apparently know that the CDC isssued a memorandum back in September that barred evictions on a national level through the end of the year. We’ve compiled a guide of things one should know in the midst of a looming housing crisis and mass eviction(s).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW:

First and foremost — the CDC order prevents one from being evicted from September through the end of the year. While evictions are pevented — they haven’t totally stopped hitting the court house. They just can’t be acted on until the end of the year when the order actually expires. If the Trump administration fails to act, however, millions will become subject to evictions beyond 1 January 2021.

Right now though people can sign what is called a declaration. That declaration must solemnly swear to the following: that one or their family makes less than $100,000 a year; has experienced significant income loss due to the pandemic, and otherwise is making their best effort to pay their rent. That declaration must be dutifully filed with the appropriate landlord.

*This will help assist in stopping eviction per the CDC order.

We also must note that the CDC memo applies to all types of housing there is no particular who’s who. Your landlord cannot tell you that the CDC ‘s order doesn’t apply to them.
