Prominent in his own right (check); dutiful career prior (check), now having to avoid conflicts of interest (check.) Douglas Emhoff, 56, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris ‘s hubby is reportedly leaving his job at DLA Piper Law Firm before inauguration day. While mostly apparently a good deed in itself — it appears that DLA Piper Law Firm has actually its own ties to the federal government that would create a larger issue had he stayed on.
Per reports, the law firm is fairly well known in Hollywood and even more well known among American behemoths like Comcast. DLA Piper has lobbied and even defended the likes of Comcast and more in favour of them to the federal government and apparently didn’t want to create issues for his wife.
