5 Free Ways To Stay Connected With The Fam During the Pandemic And Holiday Season

The Coronavirus pandemic has made communicating; hanging out with, and exploring the holiday season tougher than ever before for almost everybody. Anyone who says otherwise is problably lying or a COVID denier or wealthy and it doesn’t trouble them much.

In this guide, we’re going to explore a ton of free ways to communicate and have fun with the family (FOR FREE) that are easy for everybody to use. This guide contains references to both IOS devices and Android devices.

  1. Facetime

Apple ‘s Facetime feature has proven to be the most effective one that is if your family is exclusively Apple. Free to use for users —- the service now allows group Facetimes from around the world at any given time in its latest update. It’s also fairly easy for Grandma and Grandpa to figure out. You can initiate a “Facetime” call by simply going into your phone and finding the labeled “Facetime” and then selecting a contact. You can add a person to the call by tapping on the “Dots” on the left side of the screen and entering their number. It will connect the group chat.

2. Glide

If you’re not fond of holding the phone up for an hour while people incessantly talk about next to nothing —- we’re looking at you Aunt Betty. Then Glide is your friend. Glide is a free video texting app that allows you to send video messages in real time back and forth with loved ones. It sort of replaces text messages —- and you don’t have to actually hold the phone or your iPad up for long periods of time. This is available on both IOS and Android devices.

3. Google hangouts

Google hangouts is one for the Droids here guys. Almost identical to Facetime — it works nearly in the same identical manner. This is free to use and can be accessed by anyone in the world (so long as you don’t live in a corrupt nation where it is blocked.)

4. Textfree

If you’re one of those that doesn’t have an active phone (they exist people) then this one is for you. Textfree is among one of the many apps that now gives free calling minutes and the like to users. They’re offering 2x the minutes throughout the season to help further ease the burden of life in a natural disaster during the holiday season.

5. Marco Polo

This one many probably wouldn’t know but it is similar to the likes of Houseparty. This one might better suit the younger crowd looking to get in touch with their friends and college mates.

6. Zoom

Pretty sure by now everybody knows what this one is. Zoom is free to use for the most part —- although you might run into connection issues every now and then.
