Here’s why. According to several channels throughout the Chinese government — Chinese officials have announced that they will begin arresting Americans who are in their country probably without reason or much explanation entirely. The move — according to what we understand —- is in retaliation for the rest of a group of Chinese scientists accused of being PLA spies on American soil.
If you’re not quite hip to Chinese lingo — PLA stands for People’s Liberation Army. A while back, the Americans reportedly accused the scientists of gathering intel and information for the Chinese behind the back’s of the U.S State Department. We will have more on this story as we continue to cover it with our Chinese counterparts at Bazaar China.
China has a long and documented history as alike the USA using foreign citizens as pawns and leverage. It is advisable to avoid the country because unfortunately America cannot help you at that point —— State Department or no State Department.
