Editors Note: Last week —- we brought you the story of a missing California Mom who was found after 12 days or so in Zion National Park. We are now writing this bulletin —- because this story has fallen under intense questions and scrutiny as some parts may not be true at all. It’s worth noting that the family has provided numerous confusing statements.

UTAH —- Washington County Sheriff Darrell Cashin is making headlines this week as it has emerged that the story of Holly Courtier may not in fact have been what the public was led to believe it was. According to Cashin, there were several inconsistencies within Courtier’s story to begin with and it only starts there.

It gets pretty wild.

According to officer Cashin (see here), the river that Courtier ‘s family claims she used to drink water from is in fact a toxic river and cannot be drank from. Let me repeat that. Officials are confirming that the so-called river she drank from (and “survived off of”) in fact cannot be drank from.

“If she had been drinking that water, unless she had some really high immune system, she would’ve been very, very ill and probably unable to come out on her own,” Cashin says.

There are active organisms and parasites in the so-called Virgin River that Courtier ‘s family claims she drank from —- making it virtually impossible that such is actually true that she survived from it.

“She either took a lot of water with her or had another clean water source that was near here, but the Virgin River is not that source.”

Furthermore, Cashin confirmed that the claim of head trauma was fishy fro mthe start. In an interview, he confirmed that Courtier was not hospitalized and there were no signs of said head trauma by paramedics during a screening after she had been found.
