So I gave @BigScreenVR a shot in #VR — here’s how that went

In the age of COVID — I’ve tried to find alternative ways to do normal things with family and friends. I had always thought about getting a virtual reality headset., but, for obvious reasons the idea was always delayed or not something of importance. And then, COVID-19 hit altering the way we live our lives.

I’ve always been a fan of going to the movies. It’s a time to gather with friends to enjoy a picture; have some snacks, and remember what it is like to be able to make plans with those you care about.

Enter: BigscreenVR.

In the age of COVID, I found an app called BigScreenVR (a virtual environment) that brings the movie theatre to your headset. In fact, it’s so real after a bit you sort of forget that you have a headset on.

BSVR allows you to actually go to the movie theatre in VR; grab some virtual popcorn and a soda, and choose a seat anywhere in the movie theatre.

*You do not have to be in the same room as someone to watch a picture with them. You can watch from anywhere in the world so long as they have a compatible VR headset.

I think that’s pretty cool because that’s one of the focal points of going to the movies to begin with. Personally, in the age of COVID I think more people should be going after virtual reality headsets for things like going to the movies; seeing parts of the world, and more.

The thing I love most about BSVR is that the movie tickets are extremely affordable. Myself and two friends paid all of $24 to watch two movies a piece together. Perhaps the equally best part about the environment is that upon purchasing a ticket, you actually get up to 48 hours to go to theatre to watch it.

BSVR does actually host weekly live events; 3-D movie viewings, and more.

*VR headset required. More information available at BigScreenVr.com
