#NYC ‘s rise in deadly #gunviolence continues as man brazenly shot in late-night reign of terror

BROOKLYN, New York — New York ‘s brazen rise in gun violence continues tonight as we’ve learned and witnessed at least one major shooting of the night. On Avenue D in Brooklyn shortly after 1:00 am, two men opened fire while on foot between Avenue D and Brooklyn Avenue before fleeing the area.

At least one person is believed to be listed in critical condition as of this writing his identity has not been confirmed. It is unclear whether or not this was an innocent bystander or potentially gang related. This shooting joins a long list of recent shootings in NYC as the Big Apple grapples with a stunning rise in violent crimes.

UPDATE: We’ve now learned that there were three people critically injured in the shootout. Police sources have identified the situation as a triple shooting and at least one of them has died making it a homicide. It remains unclear of the status of the other two men as they were privately transported to a nearby hospital.
