Kenosha Sheriff: Some Black people just aren’t worth saving

The police chief leading the response to the shooting of Jacob Blake apparently has quite the inflammatory past of his own. According to CNN and their affiliates, David Beth previously addressed a string of past burglaries in January 2018 by openly stating that some people just aren’t worth saving. The report shows that the comments came after a few instances reportedly involving black suspects in Kenosha around or shortly after Jan 18.

The report comes from this public alert (see here) that shows a situation that unfolded at a Tommy Hilfiger store at the time. In response to the attempted alleged robbery and the high-speed chase that led to the arrests of four black men —- Beth ‘s response was startling.

“I’m to the point that I think society has to come to a threshold where there’s some people that aren’t worth saving,” Beth said at the news conference a day after the incident, according to CNN affiliate WTMJ. “We need to build warehouses, to put these people into it and lock them away for the rest of their lives.”
