Jetblue joins growing list of orgs banning masks with face valves as COVID cases mount

Jetblue customers will soon be required to wear face masks that don’t actually have valves on them. According to the airline, as of 10 August customers will not be permitted to wear such masks and will no longer be able to claim exemptions from the mask rule altogether.

The rule change comes amid claims from varying experts that face masks with valves don’t actually protect against the Coronavirus. Whether that is actually accurate remains to be seen, although, experts are pushing the idea because of the fact that the valves contrast the idea of clean ventilated air.

This week also saw the likes of Alaska Airlines joining the fray in tightening their mask rules. As of this week, customers are required to wear masks or will be ejected from the plane (or potentially even banned for life.)
